Description:  A call was received of a grass fire which had began from the use of a grinder. Sparks from a grinder were landing in dry grass on a moderate temperature day which caused the grass to ignite. The fire spread to approx .25 hectares. Crews from Maffra and Stratford blacked out the fire using water, class A foam and rake hoes. The fire was spreading moderately even on a non Total Fire Ban Day (TFB) with temperature reaching a top of 27 degrees and humidity of around 40%.
