Description:
Maffra's Pumper and Salvage Unit was requested by the Heyfield Brigade to
support them with a house fire. On arrival, the house was fully involved in the
front rooms and the roof space. The roof colapsed in one area. One middle
bedroom was uninvolved - Maffra applied salvage techniques to drain the ceiling
and stop it coming down in that room. A good save as the contents of the room
were pretty well undamaged. The back half of the house was mainly smoke/water
damage.
Maffra continued to support with its Thermal Imaging Camera (TIC) looking for
hot spots and extinguishing them.
The fire started in the lounge room (still under investigation)
