Open Day

The Maffra Fire Brigade held an Open Day on Sunday the 16th May 2004.
This Open Day was for the official handover of our new Tanker 2. The day started at 1pm with the official handover, and moved into displays and tours of our facilities.
The open day went very well, with approximately 100 people attending throughout the day. Starting at 11am with an invitation only lunch for brigade members, families and officials, the hand over of Tanker 2 occurred at 1330hrs. The day was a huge success, with all impressed by the new vehicle. The Maffra Fire Brigade would like to thank all those that attended.
Some of the attractions were:
Handover of Tanker 2 by CFA officials and prominent locals
Pumping display - Tanker 2
CFA's 'Crawl Low in Smoke' Children's training Smokehouse (mums and dads most welcome!)
Fire Extinguisher sales and demonstrations. Not sure how to use one? Have a go in a safe, controlled environment
Walk around the station! Ask our fire-fighters for explanations and demonstrations of all our equipment, vehicles and anything else you find!
Kids - Come and meet Captain Koala for some free stickers and colouring books
Much, much more...
